To be clear: I didn’t create this – it’s the work of James Hastings-Trew (of Tempus Irae fame). Hopefully he won’t mind me uploading this here.

This won the Bungie Mapmaking Contest back in the day. It’s become increasingly difficult to find, though, and the main version available requires running a patch on the classic Mac OS. Hence this upload.

Overall, this is a fun three-level pack with some great new textures. The story is fairly cursory, and it ends on a cliffhanger for an intended sequel that James never made because he got roped into Tempus Irae instead. TI is great, though, so no major complaints.

The textures are 128x128, since they’re made for the classic engine. Overall, I think this looks best with near texture filtering off to replicate the classic look, but others may have their own opinions.

This will run fine if you just put it in your Infinity folder. Just remember to select Megiddo Shapes.shpA and disable the HD texture plugins – they won’t fit these textures at all. (The HD landscapes will match until the final level, but they might look out of place with the SD textures.)

A lot of the instructions file doesn’t really apply to this version – the shapes are already patched – but I’ve included it for completeness.

I’d recommend playing this with as little advance knowledge as possible, but in lieu of a spoiler guide, I’ve uploaded Total Carnage videos of all three levels (excluding the intro) to YouTube, which may be helpful if you get stuck:

#03 Armageddon: https://youtu.be/iBDNKipGMlw
#04 Payback’s a Bitch: https://youtu.be/3q4dO79wdWw

These also reveal the locations of a lot of the secrets (I have no idea if I got all of them, but I don’t think I’ve ever found any others).

If you have any other questions or run into any issues, you can contact me on the Discord (https://discord.gg/c7rEVgY) at @Aaron#6608 (you will need to have at least one server in common with me to message me). I probably won’t respond to other forms of contact, unless the Pfhorums come back, in which case I’ll also respond to PMs sent to my account there (The Man). I might not notice Simplici7y comments for months, and I’m notoriously bad about responding to email, so I won’t even bother putting my email address here.

Enjoy!
